We were commissioned to design the uniforms for the front office team and doormen of The Goring, London’s only family-owned luxury hotel. Known for its Edwardian charm and playful details, the hotel required a wardrobe that reflected its British heritage and distinctive character.
Design Approach
The uniforms balanced tradition with a bold and eccentric style. For the doormen, we created red tailcoats with gold trim and buttons, which became an iconic feature of the hotel’s identity. Tweed frock coats and tailored suits were designed for other front office roles, combining classic British fabrics with sharp tailoring.
Inspiration and Details
For women, we designed shift dresses inspired by the 1950s, adding a touch of vintage elegance. The overall wardrobe featured bright pops of color and playful accents, echoing the hotel’s unique decor and atmosphere.
Located near Buckingham Palace and frequented by the royal family, The Goring required uniforms that upheld its tradition while embracing its flamboyant edge. The designs achieved a balance of professionalism, heritage, and individuality, ensuring staff reflected the hotel’s eccentric style.
