In 2010, we delivered a full staff wardrobe for The Connaught in Mayfair, London, as part of a comprehensive refurbishment. With over 450 staff and a wide variety of roles, the uniforms were designed to honor the hotel’s heritage while reflecting its modernized interiors and rebranding.

Design Approach

Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s opening in 1897, we incorporated elements of its original uniforms into the designs. Traditional morning coats and tailcoats in navy and black were modernized with contemporary tailoring. The doorman’s attire featured a beige taupe color with leather trims, taken directly from the hotel’s historical archives.

Brand Integration

The newly introduced greyhound logo, a key feature of the rebrand, was subtly incorporated into accessories such as cufflinks. Dogtooth and puppytooth patterns were used as accents on the uniforms, tying into The Connaught’s updated visual identity.

Key Areas

Michelin-Starred Dining and Bars: For the three Michelin-starred Hélène Darroze restaurant and the iconic Connaught and Coburg Bars, uniforms were designed to match the high standards and reputation of these venues.

Spa and Banqueting: Functional yet elegant designs were developed for staff in these areas, ensuring consistency across all guest-facing roles.

The wardrobe blended tradition with contemporary details, supporting The Connaught’s position as one of London’s most prestigious hotels.
