In 2016, we designed and delivered a full staff wardrobe for Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico. With over 350 staff across multiple departments, the wardrobe was developed to align with the resort’s focus on “barefoot luxury” while being practical for the tropical climate and diverse staff roles.

Design Approach

The designs drew inspiration from the resort’s surroundings and international influences. The pool area, a central hub of the property, featured uniforms inspired by European luxury knitwear, incorporating textures and colors that reflected the sun and sea. For daytime, T-shirts and shorts were used to ensure staff comfort, while evening uniforms included elevated yet casual styles such as white capri pants paired with one-shoulder tops and dresses.

Dining Spaces

The main dining room, a steakhouse serving throughout the day, required a flexible uniform design to suit breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. The beach restaurant, catering to families, featured bright and lively colors like yellow and blue to reflect its vibrant atmosphere.

Spa

For the spa, located in a lush, jungle-inspired setting, uniforms were designed to complement the natural surroundings. Details like zippers and hardware were incorporated to add a modern touch, contrasting with the organic environment.

The wardrobe combined functionality with the relaxed yet high end reputation of any Ritz-Carlton property, supporting staff across the resort in maintaining a polished and approachable appearance. The project was completed on schedule in 2016.
